Chevening Alumni
The British Chevening Alumni Association of Cambodia (BCAAC) recently successfully registered as a formal Alumni Association at the Ministry of the Interior.
Background
The inaugural meeting of the BCAAC was held on Friday 30 January 2009 at the British Ambassador's Residence. The BCAAC, whose membership over 60, aims to promotes understanding of the Scholarship and Fellowship Programmes, to maintain and improve relationships between and among all Chevening Alumni, to coordinate links between the Chevening Alumni and NGOs and investors in Cambodia and other institutions in the UK and to take part in implementation activities of other development projects in the public interest.
First anniversary
On 22 October 2009, the British Chevening Alumni Association of Cambodia( BCAAC) celebrated the 1st anniversary of the association at the British Ambassador's Residence with the participation by the association members and media. The reception also followed by a meeting of the alumni to discuss key strategies for association. The British Embassy is delighted to see the progress of this association so far and here is the speech of Ambassador at this event.
