British Embassy’s Chevening Fellowships Programme 2009-10 (24/06/2009)
The British Embassy Chevening Fellowships Programme invites applications for fully funded 12-week courses in the UK from Jan- April 2010. Chevening Fellowships are a component of the UK's Chevening programme. Fellows undertake an intensive 12-week course, which offers dynamic training and professional development opportunities in the UK. Courses consist of high-quality content, with contributions from leading academics and experts in the field.
Relevant fields of study for Chevening Fellowships are:
- Conflict Prevention and Resolution
- Government Relations with NGOs & Civil Society
- Reforming the Security and Justice Sectors in Post Conflict Countries
The deadline for the above three courses is 10 July 2009
- Delivering Economic Regulatory Reform
- The Economics of Climate Change
- The Economics of Energy
- Finance and Investment in a Low Carbon Economy
The deadline for the above seven courses is 21 July 2009.
- Democracy, the Rule of Law and Security
- Implementing Human Rights Conventions
- Peacekeeping and International Capacity Building
- Using Democracy for Peace
The deadline for the above four courses is 14 August 2009.
Are you:
- a Cambodian successful mid-career and /or senior professional (for example, middle or senior-ranking civil servants or CEOs, Directors or Deputy Directors of NGOs, etc)?
- in a position of leadership /authority and influence or in line for such a position?
- active in the field or with work experience or having demonstrated interest in the subject area of the fellowship?
- proficient in English, with excellent written and spoken skills (IELTS 6.0 or above)?
- strongly committed to return to work in Cambodia?
If you meet the selection criteria above, you are strongly encouraged to apply for this prestigious award.
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- a completed application form [Word, 1.55 MB] including a personal statement.
- two clear passport-style photographs.
- a copy of candidate's passport.
- copies of certificates and diplomas in English.
- two recent letters of references (applicants must obtain permission from their line ministry or manager to accept a place).
- IELTS or TOEFL report form.
